Google has released its July security update for Android, but many manufacturers have not yet delivered the last month’s patches to their devices.
Samsung is still catching up, and now has begun to launch in June on the European Galaxy S6 security update. So far, the update seems to apply only to S6, yet yet to its S6 edge siblings.
Patch is currently in the Netherlands to unlock the device model, but they should be in other European markets to reach Galaxy S6. The carrier lock model may take longer to wait because operators are rarely eager to test the old device updates.
The update updates the phone’s firmware to version G920FXXU5EQFC with 96 enhancements for Android operating system security issues and bugs, as well as 23 improvements to Samsung Galaxy devices. In addition to security patches, updates include unspecified bug fixes and device performance optimization.
